Nonu cleared of reckless tackle

Hurricanes midfield back Ma'a Nonu was last night cleared of making a reckless tackle in the 37-13 Rebel Sport Super 14 loss to the Stormers at Cape Town.

Nonu was cited for a tackle on Stormers first-five eighth Peter Granton Sunday morning (NZT).

Sanzar judicial officer Rob Stelzner overnight found him not guilty.

Aftyer hearing evidence from referee Steve Walsh, a submission on behalf of Nonu, and watching video of the incident, Stelzner ruled Nonu's arm slid up after making the tackle.

The impact point was below the shoulder line.
